The entire emphasis of the theme of the Book of Haggai is: Rebuild the Temple!

The Book of Haggai makes two major points. First, it emphasizes the divine origin of the prophetic message: that true prophecy came directly from God. Although his book is short, only two chapters, with a total of thirty eight verses, twenty times it was stated that Jehovah was the One doing the speaking. The second point it makes is the danger of procrastination and the judgment that could result from putting off what one knows to be the will of God. The Jewish people procrastinated in carrying out God's will, and as a result, they suffered divine judgment.
